He is the son of the eminent Kannada writer Yashwant Chittal. Milind received rigorous training for 12 years under the legendary Pandit Firoz Dastur of the Kirana Gharana. His musical journey has also been enriched under the guidance of Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan of the Rampur-Sahaswan Gharana and Pandit Dinkar Kaikini of the Agra Gharana, contributing to his nuanced and emphatic style.

Known for his sonorous voice and remarkable range, Pandit Milind Chittal has captivated audiences at prestigious music festivals such as the Sawai Gandharva Festival in Pune, the Harballabh Sangeet Sammelan in Jalandhar, the Ustad Amir Khan Festival in Indore, and the Saptak Festival in Ahmedabad.
